uPI has completed the ISO14001 environmental management system certification renewal in December 2023, and conducts environmental assessment every two years, sets management goals and plans based on the assessment results, and carries out continuous improvement and regular reviews. In accordance with the environmental policies set forth in the ISO14001 environmental management system, we clearly state that we will strengthen and prevent the management of environmental pollution, reduce the impact of waste on the environment, implement energy-saving and carbon-reduction related activities, carry out resource reduction and recycling programs, and raise employees’ awareness of environmental protection through employee education and training and environmental protection activities.
Specify the GHG reduction base year:
In 2020, emissions were 881.33 metric tons of CO2e/year.
Reduction target:
Based on the results of the Company’s annual GHG inventory, the Company adjusts its energy conservation and carbon reduction strategies, promotes and encourages employees to implement energy conservation and carbon reduction in their daily activities, and aims to achieve an annual reduction of more than 1% in GHG emissions and set a long-term target of reducing GHG emissions by more than 3% before 2030, thereby gradually decreasing the environmental impact of its operational activities.
Reduction strategy:
The Company’s primary source of GHG emissions is indirect emissions from electricity consumption. By continuously improving hardware equipment and implementing energy-saving measures, the Company gradually reduces electricity usage, while monitoring water and electricity consumption to promptly review and implement improvements in the event of abnormal usage. In addition, internal training is conducted to enhance employees’ awareness of energy conservation, carbon reduction, and sustainable development.
The relevant specific action plans are as follows:
- Timers are installed for office lighting power to automatically turn off during employees’ break times.
- Remote automatic control software is installed for the air conditioning systems in office areas and meeting rooms to automatically shut them down during non-working hours, ensuring that air conditioning equipment is turned off outside of working hours.
- The air conditioning temperature across all office areas is set to 26°C, with airflow configured to automatic mode, and instructions are indicated on each control panel.
- Replace with new high-efficiency variable-frequency chillers to reduce power consumption of the air conditioning main units.
- Implement comprehensive digitalization of forms to reduce the use of photocopy paper.
- Encourage employees on business trips to use public transportation instead of driving, and to prioritize accommodations at hotels with environmental or green certifications, enabling employees to practice energy conservation and carbon reduction while traveling on business.
In addition, the company is mainly engaged in the research and development, design and sales of power management IC products, and does not use a lot of water and electricity in production facilities and business waste. The Company’s water usage and waste management goals and policies are as follows:
Water Usage:
The company will take 2024 as the base year, aiming to reduce total water consumption by 1% by 2030. The Company is an IC design house with no production processes. Mainly use water for domestic purposes and have no major impact. The Company will continue to promote water conservation among employees and improve conservation through management methods aimed at reducing daily water consumption.
Waste management:
The target is also set to reduce annual waste generation by 1% compared to the previous year. The Company is an IC design house with no production processes. We mainly generate non-harmful waste and have no significant impact. The Company will continue to educate employees on reducing the use of disposable tableware and implement waste classification and other related measures to achieve resource recovery, reuse, and waste reduction.
Since 2024, the Company has conducted its own GHG inventory for the parent company in accordance with relevant standards and has adopted the operational control approach as the principle for defining the inventory boundary.
GHG emissions for 2024 were 1,012.32 metric tons of CO2e (Scope 1: 144.67 metric tons of CO2e; Scope 2: 867.65 metric tons of CO2e), with an emission intensity of 0.27 metric tons of CO2e per NT$1 million of revenue; GHG emissions for 2025 were 926.64 metric tons of CO2e (Scope 1: 123.27 metric tons of CO2e; Scope 2: 803.37 metric tons of CO2e), with an emission intensity of 0.20 metric tons of CO2e per NT$1 million of revenue.
In 2025, the Company also optimized its internal greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory procedures and methodologies. Accordingly, the 2024 GHG inventory data were adjusted to improve data completeness and comparability. After adjustment, total GHG emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) in 2025 decreased by 8.5% compared to 2024.

Achievement of Reduction Targets:
From 2020 to 2024, the Company achieved an annual reduction target of over 1% each year. In 2025, the internal greenhouse gas inventory procedures and methodologies were optimized, leading to an adjustment of the 2024 inventory data to enhance data completeness and comparability. After the adjustment, the Company’s greenhouse gas emissions in 2025 (Scope 1 and Scope 2) decreased by 8.5% compared with 2024.
