uPI has completed the ISO14001 environmental management system certification renewal in December 2023, and conducts environmental assessment every two years, sets management goals and plans based on the assessment results, and carries out continuous improvement and regular reviews. In accordance with the environmental policies set forth in the ISO14001 environmental management system, we clearly state that we will strengthen and prevent the management of environmental pollution, reduce the impact of waste on the environment, implement energy-saving and carbon-reduction related activities, carry out resource reduction and recycling programs, and raise employees’ awareness of environmental protection through employee education and training and environmental protection activities.

Related specific measures are as follows:

• The office lighting power supply is set up with a timer switch to turn off automatically during the break time of employees.
• The air conditioning system in each regional office and conference room is set up with remote automatic control software that automatically turns off during non-working hours to ensure that the air conditioning equipment is turned off during non-working hours.
• The air conditioning temperature in all regional offices is controlled at 26°C and is indicated on each control panel.
• We encourage our employees to take public transportation instead of driving, and give priority to hotels with environmental protection or green labels for accommodation, so that our employees can save energy and reduce carbon while traveling.
• In terms of waste, according to the classification method set by the Environmental Protection Agency, clearly marked and compliant temporary storage containers are installed in the office to achieve proper classification, effective recycling and gradual reduction.
• Replace with new high-efficiency Inverter chiller to save energy consumption of the air conditioner unit.

In addition, the company is mainly engaged in the research and development, design and sales of power management IC products, and does not use a lot of water and electricity in production facilities and business waste. The company conduct a greenhouse gas inventory in 2020 as the base year and conduct an energy resource inventory for all activities within the Company, and to formulate an energy conservation strategy based on the results of the inventory and set an annual reduction of greenhouse gas emissions of 1% or more.

Statistics of greenhouse gas emissions in the past years

Annual greenhouse gas emissions in 2023 (Scope 1 and Scope 2) were reduced by 6.56% compared with 2022. To fulfill responsibilities for sustainable development, the Company will continually operate related measures about energy saving and carbon reduction, and the annual reduction of greenhouse gas emissions was set to over 1%.
